Biography:

Eileen Carlson is Senior Director of Strategy and Governance for Baxter Healthcare in the IT department.

Ms. Carlson joined Baxter Healthcare in 2013 to lead their Information Governance program which includes E-Discovery, Records Management (retention and disposal), Information Security, and Information Protection primarily for unstructured data. Her team has been focused on identifying data for defensible deletion. They have rolled out guidelines for Content Management Tools/Applications and Governing Internal Social Media. They are embarking on a framework for supporting the company splitting into two separate companies to help with the transfer of information.

Prior to joining Baxter, Ms. Carlson was responsible for launching the U.S. Cellular® Data Governance initiative at the end of 2006. It began with the creation of policies and standards for reporting key company metrics. She facilitated the development of the corporate retention schedule along with the related communications and roll out. She was the owner of the Enterprise Data Warehouse, responsible for metadata, data quality, and role based access controls.
