Biography:

Before joining the Miami office of Shook, Hardy & Bacon LLP in 2000 as a litigation partner, John Barkett practiced in a litigation boutique of which he was a partner and co-founder. John has extensive experience in commercial litigation and environmental litigation. John is also conducting or has conducted mediations or arbitrations domestically or internationally that collectively involve claims of more than $1 billion. In 2003, John was appointed to serve as the special master to oversee the implementation and enforcement of the 1992 Consent Decree (S.D. Fla.) between the United States and the State of Florida relating to the multibillion-dollar restoration of the Florida Everglades.
